The Process

From First Call to Fixed

Most investigations are complete in a single visit. Here's what to expect at every stage.

The Process

From Call to Fixed

Straightforward. No surprises.

1

Call or Book

Describe the issue and we'll advise the right approach. Same or next day in most cases.

2

Engineer Arrives

A qualified engineer brings the full detection kit — thermal, tracer gas, acoustic.

3

Leak Located

We pinpoint the exact source before any access work begins. No guesswork, no unnecessary damage.

4

Repair & Report

Leak repaired and full documentation delivered within 48 hours for your insurance claim.

Step by Step

What Happens At Each Stage

01

Call or Book Online

When you get in touch, we'll ask about the symptoms — where you're seeing damp, whether there's a pressure drop on your system, how long it's been going on, and the construction type of your property. These answers let our engineer plan which detection approach is most likely to succeed, and what equipment to bring.

For emergencies — active water ingress, a burst pipe, or visible ceiling damage — we aim to be on-site within two to four hours across London. Non-urgent investigations are typically booked within 24 to 48 hours at a time that suits you.

02

Your Engineer Arrives with the Full Kit

Our engineers don't drive vans stocked for general plumbing jobs. They carry specialist leak detection equipment: thermal imaging cameras, tracer gas units, acoustic listening devices, endoscope cameras, and pressure testing rigs. The right tool is chosen based on the specific symptom and substrate — concrete floor, timber, tile, or brick — not guesswork about where to look.

Every engineer is WaterSafe registered, DBS checked, and carries full public liability insurance. You'll receive a message before they arrive with the engineer's name and estimated time. They'll explain what they're doing at every stage — you won't be left guessing.

03

The Leak is Located Without Unnecessary Damage

This is what distinguishes us from a general plumber who opens up a wall to look. Our detection methods work through surfaces: thermal imaging reads temperature differentials in floors and walls caused by escaping water, tracer gas migrates to the surface at the precise point of pipe failure, and acoustic devices amplify pipe noise to isolate the exact location of the leak.

In most investigations, we locate the leak without making a single access point. When access work is required, we mark the exact spot — a single tile, a small defined area — rather than opening up a strip of the property to search. Our NoFindNoFee guarantee means that if we cannot locate the source, you pay nothing for the investigation.

04

Repair, Reinstatement and Written Report

Once the leak is located, most repairs are carried out in the same visit. Our engineers carry pipe repair materials and can fix the majority of mains water, central heating, and underfloor heating failures on the day. Where specialist reinstatement is required — floor screed, tiling, or replastering — we advise on the right approach and, where possible, connect you with trusted tradespeople.

Within 24 to 48 hours you'll receive a full written report with photographs of the investigation, findings, and the repair carried out. This report is formatted to meet the requirements of all major UK insurers and is accepted for trace and access claims by Aviva, AXA, RSA, Zurich, LV=, Direct Line, and all other major providers.

Our Guarantee

No Find, No Fee

If we cannot locate the source of the leak, you do not pay for the investigation. We offer this guarantee because our detection success rate is high and because we believe the risk of uncertainty should sit with the specialist, not the homeowner.

The guarantee covers the investigation only — if access work has been agreed in advance and the leak is not found, you pay only for the agreed access, not the full investigation fee. We will always be transparent about the distinction before starting.

How We Find Leaks

Advanced Detection Technology

Three complementary methods — used in combination to find any leak, anywhere.

Thermal imaging camera showing pipe heat signature
Method 01

Thermal Imaging

Infrared cameras detect heat signatures from hot water pipes beneath floors and inside walls. A fast, non-destructive first pass that covers large areas in minutes.

Method 02

Tracer Gas Detection

An inert hydrogen/nitrogen mix is introduced into the pipe system. It rises through concrete, timber and tile and is detected at the surface to pinpoint the exact leak location.

Method 03

Acoustic Detection

Sensitive ground microphones pick up the frequency of water escaping under pressure, distinguishing a leak from background noise even through solid concrete.
